The rules that keep PearlNook’s nooks and threads friendly: what belongs here, what doesn’t, and how moderation works.

A nook works when everyone in it feels safe enough to say what they think. These guidelines apply to everything on PearlNook: posts, profiles, shelves and replies.
The spirit of the place
Write like the person you are replying to is sitting across from you. Be generous with context, honest about what you know and what you don’t, and careful with other people’s stories.
Keeping threads friendly
- Reply to the post you are under. Off-topic replies stay unpublished.
- Disagree with arguments, not with people. Name-calling never gets approved.
- Every guest reply is read by a moderator before it appears.
Sharing your own work
Post words and pictures you made, or ones you have permission to use. Quote briefly and say where the quote came from. Links are welcome, to your own website, your sources, or anything that helps readers, as long as each link leads where it says it does and the page behind it would be fine under these same rules.
Not allowed anywhere on PearlNook
- Illegal content, or content that helps someone break the law.
- Malware, phishing, or deceptive and harmful links.
- Harassment, hate speech or threats against anyone.
- Sharing someone’s private information without their consent.
- Impersonating another person or organisation.
- Plagiarism or other copyright infringement.
- Any sexual content involving minors.
Reporting
If something looks wrong, tell us on the contact page under “Report a post or comment” and include the link. Reports go straight to the moderators.
How moderation works
Moderators may remove posts, profiles or replies that break these guidelines, and may close blogs where the problem is serious or keeps coming back. We look at the whole context before acting. When the guidelines change, the date at the top of this page changes too.
